Songs that remind you of a specific match

Are there any songs that every time you hear them take you right back to a specific game? Excluding the ones they play every time we win, of course!

I don't know why this particular one stuck with me but Culture Club's Karma Chameleon was playing when we were playing Bury in the away leg of the League Cup tie from 1983/84. We played pretty well to win 2-1 at Gigg Lane but obviously went on a proper rampage in the home game!

Can't believe how long ago it was either...

We stayed in Merthyr for the cup final in 06 and apart from us mob the rest of the town was full of Scouse...wherever we went it was Johnny Cash's `Ring of Fire' being blared out everywhere...

I've been trying to remember which Mickey Bubble song was played loads over a few seasons 2010/11 ish and it was Cry Me A River.

It has a really dramatic beginning, which I found out later he actually composed himself, basing it on the dramatic James Bond themes. At the time I just thought he was a really cool singer but obviously much more talented than that.

Heart of Midlothian's club song reminds me of the 2006 FA Cup final.

After watching the final in one pub I went to another to drown my sorrows, and it had just shown the Scottish Cup final which Hearts had just won.

When we bought McAvennie back, I remember Frankie By Sister Sledge being closely followed by Help by The Beatles before his first game at Upton Park as we were in deep shit.

Frank never scored for the rest of the season and we were still relegated

Also Paradise by Coldplay seemed to go on forever after Nolan lifted the 'trophy' in the 2012 play off final at Wembley

Many West Ham games over the last 55 - 60 years... as the players emerged from the tunnel the song "Send in the Clowns" came to mind.

It must be love was the first song that came to mind for me as well on that day.

21 dec 1979. West Ham v Cambridge on a cold snowy friday night. Before the game Mike Oldfield’s “Il Duce Jubilo” came on and a bloke in the West Side jumped stark bollock naked onto the pitch and started dancing to it.

West end girls always reminds if the 0-4 at Chelsea, it was a big hit round then as well , always reminds me if that whole season to fair.

Cambridge 1993 at home - It must be love by Madness. Played before the game, seemed the whole crowd were singing.

Millwall away when we got done 4-1 - Rocking all over the world by Status Quo. Kept in after the game and those cunts dancing around celebrating to this.

Shitty Coldplay song from the play off final against Blackpool.

Not a match as such but Run DMC vs Jason Nevins reminds me of our FA Cup run in 1998.

Van Halen- Jump, Ewood Park in mid 90's, lost 4-2.

Whitetown- I could never be your woman, Elland Rd, 1997, lost 1-0.

Singing in the rain....QPR away maybe 1974/5, sang it the whole match, we were fuckin soaked as they didn't have a roof back then. I vaguely remember us winning.

If anybody has Spotify the club put together a playlist of songs fans told them reminded them of match days through the years. It's quite boringly called "West Ham United Fan Playlist"!

Some more magical memories, especially the cup semi final win in 2006 - I was sat near Alan Taylor for that one, which just added to the day. Johnny Lyall's claret and blue army was a proper hairs on back of neck moment.

The mention of Vera Lynn reminds me that we had her version of Bubbles played quite recently at the OS - was it to celebrate her 100th birthday?

Crazy- Gnarls Barkley 2006 fa cup final.

Song was still relatively unknown, remember BBC used it in a montage of West Ham's route to the final, the tune ten exploded in the weeks leading up to the final.
